Quietkat Quantum vs BAKCOU Storm

Quietkat Quantum vs BAKCOU Storm

If you happen to be a hunter, looking to reach your hunting grounds stealthily, easily, and with all your gear, then an e-bike such as Quietkat Quantum or BAKCOU Storm would be the ultimate means of getting there.

They’re used for hunting, getting over rough terrain, outdoor recreation and sometimes even for simple commuting.

Similarities between the Quietkat Quantum and the BAKCOU Storm

Both bikes are fat tire models, equipped with five pedal assistant modes to allow you the choice of whether to pedal it all with no help whatsoever, just sit back and throttle it up, or simply choose from the several notches in between.

The four and a half-inch tires allow you to venture literally anywhere at all, gripping the ground via their deeply grooved surface, and braving any terrain, be it rocky, sandy, a mountain area, shallow rivers or broken roads.

They both have a tire pressure of 30 psi allowing for a smooth ride, and a suspension-like effect for negotiating even the bumpiest paths out there.

Overview of the Quietkat Quantum

The manufacturer claims that the Quantum is the ultimate functional electric bike they’ve ever made. It comes with 150 mm of front and rear suspension travel, in addition to disc brakes with 4 pistons hydraulic system which allow you to control the bike in the roughest terrain. We particularly like the motor which is an ultra mid-drive 1000 or 750 watts.

You choose the power according to your targeted terrain and distance. The motor gives you maximum traction and control and long life duty. Its frame sizes are 17’’ and 19’’ so as to fit all sizes. We actually dig the strong framework which works in perfect harmony in combination with 150 mm of front and rear suspension to provide a smooth Cadillac like bike-ride, even when negotiating the worst of terrains.

The best the Quietkat Quantum e-bike offers is the Funn package which includes handlebars for optimal strength, stiffness, and control. There are also Funn grips, pedals, and stems.

FatKat’s 48 volt, lithium-ion battery, covers on a single full charge, a distance of 18 miles in throttle mode, with nary a pedal from you. If you happen to choose one of the pedal-assist modes (5 modes in total), the battery range could be increased to between 30 to 40 miles. It has a maximum unassisted speed of 24 mph.

The fat tires and the sealed in motor, will ensure stealth and keep you unobtrusive to reach your prey and get in position just as quiet as you please.

Overview of the BAKCOU Full-suspension Storm eBike

BAKCOU Storm ebike were designed with special attention to the hunter/enthusiast looking for a smooth ride and not so into pulling/packing a lot of gear.

Storm G2

Its motor comes in two power ranges, the 750 and the 1000 watts motors, to allow for a speed that can reach up to 20 mph unassisted, and even up to 28 mph with assisted pedaling in order to comply with regulations of electric bikes in general.

It boasts Bafang Ultra mid-drive motor gifting you with a game-changer of torque and the extra plus of dual-speed sensors too. Frames come in medium and large to accommodate all sizes.

These bikes are basically set apart from their competitors via their upgraded components, such as the motors supplied by Bafang, which is an ultra mid-drive motor giving you more power, with long-lasting battery life to get you farther out on the mountain. Several other things have changed such as spokes, and tire sizes.

The tires themselves are more rubbery so that they grip the ground better as you’re moving to give you stability and control.  The knobs on the fat tires are also directional for better traction ensuring a safe ride at all times. It also features wider handlebars stands and locked handlebars.

It’s worth mentioning that the batteries are completely upgradeable, so they don’t add extra weight if you happen to need to upgrade them.

The battery and motor will – depending on how much you pedal or throttle – cover 70 to 90 miles easily with a single charge.

We need to stress that there’s a ton of accessories you could add to further your fun, such as solar panels and headlights. We really like the retractable rifle rack system which you just pull back, insert your rifle and bow and let snap in place.

The LCD display gives you all information pertaining to your trip, you can change the speed limit, you can adjust passwords, locks, sensitivity and a lot more.

We love that the batteries are super easy to change with a flick of a handle. You could even take them home, charge them and then just put them back. The pedals are super wide with a secure grip for your feet that’ll help you get the most out of the pedaling experience.

Final Verdict

We find both e-bikes awesome, functional, and capable of delivering their promises to all outdoors aficionados.

That said, the BAKCOU is a bit budget-friendly and more versatile as to its upgrades and accessories.

The Quietkat Quantum, on the other hand, is a worthy bike, to be depended upon in all conditions. However, it’s a bit on the expensive side, and not so diverse as to accessories.
