Construction
The construction of the Rambo kayak trailer for a bike is made out of steel which offers great durability and strength to support the kayak (or even canoe).
Therefore, you won’t ever have to worry about the capacity, as long as you’re transferring a kayak.
A great thing about Rambo’s choice of material (steel) is the weight.
Weight
We understand that the trailer looks huge – but this is only to fit the size of a kayak so it can be transported safely.
But could you guess the weight of the trailer?
Would you be surprised if we said that you could lift the whole trailer with your two hands?
That’s right – Rambo kayak trailer for a bike weighs only 28 lbs (12.7 kg). Yet, it’s very durable and it’s strong enough.
To be honest, if you found a way to put two kayaks on the trailer – we believe that the trailer wouldn’t have a problem handling the weight of both kayaks no matter the duration of the trip.
Dimensions
Rambo kayak trailer is wide 3′ and the smallest size is 8′ while the longest size is 10′.
Since there’s no limit on the back of the trailer – you can mount & transport any type of kayaks, including:
- Recreational kayaks that are less than 12 feet in length
- Light touring kayaks that range between 12 and 16 feet in length
- Touring kayaks that range between 16 and 22 feet in length

Installation
We’ve mentioned that there’s one catch when it comes down to installation.
You are required to have a rear rack on your eBike mounted since the trailer attaches to the rack directly. Rambo recommends R150 G2 Extra Large Luggage Rack.
Some Rambo eBikes will come with a rack equipped so you won’t have to think twice before installing the Rambo kayak trailer.
But what if you don’t use a Rambo eBike? Can you still install this useful kayak trailer to your eBike?
We believe that as long as you have any type of rear rack installed on your eBike – you would be able to attach the kayak trailer to your eBike, even if it requires some modifications.
Wheels
The trailer comes with 12″ wheels that aren’t rugged, but they’re pretty durable and they can withstand a decent amount of pressure.
For getting to the launching destination, these wheels are more than enough. Rambo could’ve put rugged wheels on there – but we don’t think that they’re really necessary.
Trailer is pretty stable as it is and even if you had to – you could take the trailer through rough terrain without any problem as well, so there’s nothing you should worry about.

Who would’ve thought that we would be able to ride electric bikes and transfer our kayak on a bike trailer, right?
And considering the reasonable price – how useful such a trailer can be, right? We know that most hunters are also able to carry a decent amount of equipment in their kayak once it’s mounted on the kayak trailer as well – which is another benefit you should try out.
One thing you should keep in mind is that in order to attach the kayak trailer – a rear-mounted rack on the eBike is required.
